The parties highlighted that relations and cooperation between Mongolia and Japan have been expanding and strengthening across all sectors under the “Special Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity.”
Prime Minister N. Uchral emphasized that the State Visit of Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress of Japan to Mongolia in 2025 marked a historic milestone in bilateral relations. He also outlined the Government of Mongolia’s policies aimed at diversifying the economy and attracting foreign investment, noting efforts to establish an open legal environment to initiate reforms in the banking sector. In this context, he expressed that Japanese banks are welcome to explore opportunities and cooperate in the Mongolian market.

The parties agreed to further enrich bilateral cooperation by aligning their development policies based on shared values such as democracy, freedom, and economic principles, while incorporating new areas of collaboration including technological advancement, the potential of artificial intelligence, and green development solutions. Mr. Arata Takebe noted that there is a potential for Japan to cooperate with Mongolia in developing human resources in the rapidly advancing technology sector.
The sides also exchanged views on a broad range of issues, including the expansion of Chinggis Khaan International Airport, investment in the renewable energy sector, and strengthening the friendly relations between the peoples of the two countries.
